"MY DAY JUST GOT BETTER. HEY YOU."
-MARY KATE OLSEN
Marla Mindelle is a dynamic actress, writer, and composer. She made waves with Titanique, the cult-favorite Off-Broadway musical she co-wrote, in which she originated the role of Céline Dion — a performance that earned her the 2023 Lucille Lortel Award for Best Performer. As a co-writer, she also helped Titanique win the Lortel Award for Best Musical. The show’s success didn’t stop in New York: Titanique has since been staged in London, Paris,Sydney, Toronto, and Montreal, and won the 2025 Olivier Award for Best New Entertainment or Comedy.
In 2024, Marla expanded her creative universe with The Big Gay Jamboree, an irreverent Off-Broadway musical comedy (book, music, lyrics) that skewers classic Golden-Age tropes with camp and heart. Her Broadway credits include Sister Act (Outer Critics Circle nomination) and Cinderella, and she’s appeared in South Pacific and The Drowsy Chaperone on tour. On screen, she plays Olivia in the Emmy-nominated Netflix series Special. Marla has also sold multiple film and TV projects with her longtime writing partner, Jonathan Parks-Ramage.

The Big Gay Jamboree burst onto the Off-Broadway scene in September 2024 at the Orpheum Theatre, produced by LuckyChap Entertainment. It’s a wildly meta, Golden-Age musical farce where aspiring actress Stacey wakes up hungover — only to find she’s trapped inside a 1940s song-and-dance spectacle. Co-written and performed by Marla Mindelle, with book by Mindelle and Jonathan Parks-Ramage and music/lyrics by Mindelle and Philip Drennen, the show skewers classic musical-theater tropes with campy charm. Critics praised its irreverent humor, vibrant ensemble, and “comfort camp” energy. The Big Gay Jamboree made a big impression in a small package.
